If I had the time I would have knitted two summer scarves to throw on stage for Bianca and Sierra. As it was, I wrote them a poem to throw on stage in the form of a "cootie" or "cootie catcher" (don't know why they are called that, it is a really bad name). First the poem and then a picture of what the thing looks like. They run a really tight show and didn't have time to look at it while they were on stage, I hope they got the chance to afterwords. Here is the Poem:<br /><br /><span style="font-weight:bold;">CocoRosie</span><br /><br />The music begins and I am under<br />And fully entranced. Two angels singing,<br />words of innocence and innocence lost,<br />Child instruments to grown understanding,<br />To another place of joy and sadness.<br />At the very end, peaceful happiness.<br /><br />What I threw on stage:<br /><a href="http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r310/myklia/blog%20pics/coco/?action=view¤t=cocorosienote3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r310/myklia/blog%20pics/coco/cocorosienote3.jpg" border="0" alt="CocoRosie poem"></a><br /><br /><a href="http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r310/myklia/blog%20pics/coco/?action=view¤t=Cocorosienote2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r310/myklia/blog%20pics/coco/Cocorosienote2.jpg" border="0" alt="CocoRosie poem"></a><br /><br /><a href="http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r310/myklia/blog%20pics/coco/?action=view¤t=cocorosienote1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r310/myklia/blog%20pics/coco/cocorosienote1.jpg" border="0" alt="CocoRosie poem"></a><br /><br />A picture from the show:<br /><a href="http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r310/myklia/blog%20pics/coco/?action=view¤t=cocomadison.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r310/myklia/blog%20pics/coco/cocomadison.jpg" border="0" alt="CocoRosie Madison 6 19 10"></a><br /><br />To to my <a href="http://myklia.blogspot.com/2010/06/cocorosie.html">blog</a> for more about the concert and go to my <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/anikaice/sets/72157624318320330/">Flickr</a> page for all the pictures.mykliahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14856246397057651861noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1239829684293528643.post-25742251333240780352010-05-07T03:20:00.000-07:002010-05-09T13:50:14.291-07:00SadnessI'm not really sad, but my friend Jillian shared this <a href="http://www.stereomood.com/activity/feel+like+crying">playlist</a>.<br /><br />I wrote this poem inspired by the playlist. I didn't use any poetic form and gave no thought to rhyme or meter. I just wrote it. I suppose I should title it. I think the title LOSS will work. I feel it can either represent the break up of a relationship or someone you love passing away.<br /><br /><a href="http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r310/myklia/blog%20pics/?action=view¤t=rainsadnesspoem.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r310/myklia/blog%20pics/rainsadnesspoem.jpg" border="0" alt="Rain sadness poem"></a><br /><br /><span style="font-weight:bold;">Loss</span><br /><br />Gray skies<br />Rainy days<br />Loneliness<br />Thinking of you<br />Wondering why you left<br />Cozy sweater<br />Can't replace your hug<br />Rain on my cheeks inside<br />As the rain falls outside<br />Feeling the emptiness<br />Of your lossmykliahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14856246397057651861noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1239829684293528643.post-70977589898085647932010-01-30T12:43:00.000-08:002010-01-30T13:29:53.432-08:00Poetry MarathonI really enjoyed reading poetry, I just need to learn to slow down. First some pictures and then I'll write down the poetry I read today.<br /><br />Here are a couple of pictures of me behind the podium. The drum was there to reflect a thunder sound in my poem about watching a thunderstorm. My sonnet was inspired by pictures my friend Jillian took and I held up the pictures as I read the poetry. Find all the pictures <a href="http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r310/myklia/blog%20pics/poetry%20marathon%202010/">here</a>.<br /><a Don't know how many will care about my poetry, but it would be nice if many do. I will be doing a poetry at Woodland Pattern today between 11am and Noon (with many others, I have a 5 minute slot). I'll post later how it went, and if I'm lucky maybe have a picture or two. Also share some of my poetry. Must go for now, the morning is going very fast.mykliahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14856246397057651861noreply@blogger.com0
